THE OTHER SIDE OF PROMATICA

Promatica's Usual Suspects
At Promatica we work hard but we also like to have fun in a socially responsible way. This means promoting educational programmes, adopting local breweries, and encouraging the latent talent in the office outside of work.

Meet the Development Team in VietnamEducation

Our development team in Vietnam is hard at work in the evenings improving their English along with the office manager and security guard.

Beer

Many of us like a beer to relax with after a long day at work - a fruit juice, glass of wine or JD & Coke is equally fine by us too - so we have decided to adopt a local brew for each of the offices.

England: When in and around London you can't go far wrong with a good pint of London Pride. Just ask Roger.
Norway: There is a remarkable small brewery called Nøgne Ø just up the coast from Kristiandsand in Grimstad. They brew a range of beer for every taste and particularly appreciated by the ex-pat Brits. Few but the mighty Einar dare to drink the 16% Dark Horizon!
Vietnam: This one's not for export but if you are anywhere near HCM City/Saigon give the Zorok a go. The quality is carefully controlled by the wife of our Promatica Vietnam manager.
Singapore: It seems almost inevitable that we'll be sinking a refreshing Tiger Beer before heading off to The Long Bar at Raffles or to the Divine bar to watch the angels fly.

Our Sponsorship

Promatica has chosen to sponsor Fotohuset and their Workshop with the famous French photographer Antoine d`Agata in May 2009. Some of Norway’s best photographers have come together in Kristiansand to learn and practice the art of the decisive moment.

“The decisive moment” is the most famous formula in Photography. Invented by Cartier Bresson, it has inspired generations of photographers ever since, professionals and amateurs alike.

It describes the moment when the photographer discovers the exact instant and position from which to extract a moment of meaning. Promatica has spent more than 20 years in capturing data from many sources to build a pictures that visualizes “the decisive moment” in the business process. Like photographers, Promatica always strives to achieve this moment of precise visual organisation that tells us something of the human experience and the business involved.

Promatica strives to visualize complex business scenarios such that management can almost instantly understand the current status and best way forward for their business. The only difference to a photographer is that the business “portrait” never stands still.

Antoine d`Agata is a member of Magnum, the agency that was co-founded by Cartier Bresson after the 2nd world war. He is also influenced by this philosophy with its foundation on the smaller cameras used during the war that enabled photographers to get out of their studios and into the field.

d’Agata has his own way of experiencing the world, and says:

“It`s not how a photographer looks at the world that is important. It`s their intimate relationship with it”

Good luck with the workshop!
